To find your current frame size, check the inside of the temple arms (the inner sides of the frame). You’ll usually see the measurements printed there in the format shown below:

This is a general size guide for reference only. Frame measurements can vary slightly depending on the style or brand you choose.

To get started, you’ll need a mirror, a ruler with millimetre (mm) markings (or, ideally, a flexible tape measure), and optionally a friend to help with accuracy. You’ll use these to estimate three key measurements: frame width, bridge width, and temple length.

Frame width

Frame width is the overall horizontal width of the glasses. To estimate it, look in the mirror and measure the distance across the front of your face, from temple to temple, just above your brows. Record your measurement in millimetres.

Bridge width

Bridge width is the space between the two lenses—the part that sits on your nose. To measure it at home, place your ruler across the bridge of your nose and measure the width. Most bridge widths typically fall between 15–25 mm.

Temple length

Temple length refers to the arms of the glasses. Measure from the outer edge of your eyebrow, around your ear, to where you’d like the temple tip to end. Since most temples curve to hook over the ears, make sure your measurement allows for that bend so the fit feels secure and comfortable.
